In 2020, Hurricanes Laura and Delta ravaged a tiny little town in southwest Louisiana called Creole. Creole is my hometown, and it was destroyed previously in 2005, my senior year, at South Cameron High School.
After the most recent devastation, clients and friends of The Blonde Salon in Smyrna, Ga, rallied together to send a semi-truck full of supplies to the rescue. A few months later I started Operation Hurricane Christmas to give a gift to all the children of the town. It was wildly successful, as 746 kids were given gifts.
Currently Operation Hurricane Seniors is a way to gift every senior at South Cameron High a $100 gift card and box full of goodies to give them some love and hope.
